At the end of the nineteenth century Gucci became one of the world’s most successful manufacturers in clothing, and fashion products. Guccio Gucci an immigrant in Paris and then London worked in exclusive hotels, impressed with luxurious luggage he saw he returned to his birthplace (Florence) he established a shop in 1920 selling fine leather goods. employed skilled workers; in basic Florentine leather crafts who where attentive to finishing.
Gucci expanded the company to include stores in Milan and Rome as well as more shops within his hometown,Florence. Gucci’s stores featured finely crafted leather accessories, shoes also silks and knitwear. The Gucci loafer is held in the New York Fashion Museum.
