She was born Vivienne Isabel Swire in the village of Tintwistle, Derbyshire 1941 (daughter of Gordon Swire and Dora Swire), whom had married two years before, two weeks after the outbreak of second World War. Vivienne's father was employed as a storekeeper in an aircraft factory; and had previously worked as a greengrocer.[3]
